Supervising Evidence Technician

Salary: $4,840.11 - $6,214.64 Monthly

Duties: Under direction, the Supervising Evidence Technician plans, organizes, assigns, supervises and reviews the work of Evidence Technicians in the Stockton Police Department; performs related work as assigned.
This is a single position police civilian supervisory class in the evidence technician series responsible for the coordination and supervision of crime evidence collection, evidence processing, and other City/Department activities relating to public education on crime evidence preservation and collection. The incumbent is responsible for recommending policy, developing goals and objectives, providing work assignments and direction, employee training and evaluation, and resolving day-to-day work issues.
This position is included in the civil service system and is represented by a bargaining unit.
Requirements: Possession of a high school diploma or GED and three (3) years experience performing duties at a level equivalent to the City of Stockton's Evidence Technician II. The Evidence Technician II has experience handling evidence and/or property and applies basic photography skills in a law enforcement setting. Lead or supervisory experience is desirable.
Other Requirements:
Must possess a valid California Class C driver license at time of hire.
Must be available for 24-hour call back.
Must be willing to handle firearms.
Prior to appointment, eligible candidates will be required to submit to and successfully pass a drug screen and background investigation, which will include fingerprinting.
