Forensic DNA Analyst (Temp)

Salary: Commensurate with experience.

The ideal candidate has experience in forensic DNA profiling including experience with capillary electrophoresis, real time PCR, Identifiler Kits, Y-STR analysis, and GeneMapper ID software. The work will consist of laboratory and computer analysis and review of DNA casework and case-related research for the Idaho Innocence Project.

Duties:

  • Extract and analyze DNA using forensic DNA kits, a 3130 Gentic Analyzer, and GeneMapper ID.
  • Learn how to use expert system DNA software, and use it to analyze DNA casework (training will be provided)
  • Perform case-related research for the Idaho Innocence Project
  • Help to write and update grants applications, and research related papers.

Requirements:

  • BS in Biology, Forensic Science or a related field or equivalent professional experience
  • 0-1 year experience
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional forensic laboratory experience
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
