  • Conduct examinations of evidence related to DNA analysis.
  • Generate STR DNA profiles from evidence and reference samples.
  • Analyze and interpret data from analysis which typically consists of complex mixtures and low level samples.
  • Perform technical and administrative reviews of other analysts’ casework.
  • Instrument maintenance.
  • Interact and collaborate with other group/team members and other forensic staff to ensure a high quality and accurate product.
  • Provide information to assist in profiling and signature analysis.
  • Produce storyboards and technical reports on data obtained.
  • Maintain and document chain of custody of items and data.
  • Supervise, train and evaluate DoD and partner nation members collecting evidence to determine the presence of DNA.


  • Bachelor’s degree. Coursework in Biochemistry, Genetics, Molecular Biology and Statistics desired.
  • Experience in performing DNA analysis on criminal evidence to include:
    • Blood and bloodstains, body fluids, and stains of body fluids, hair and other items requiring DNA or related analysis.
    • Performance of visual and microscopic examination of hairs.
    • Generation of STR DNA profiles.
    • Comparison of evidence from victims, scenes, or instruments of incidents to evidence from suspects.
  • Experience working with and collaborating with DTK Lab, Joint Expeditionary Forensics Facility (JEFF), Terrorists Explosive Device Analytical Center (TEDAC) facility, other NGIC, Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) or Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) Lab; interagency, or state/ local law enforcement labs.
  • Minimum of 5-years professional experience with a relevant advanced degree; or minimum of 8- years professional experience with a relevant bachelor’s degree.
  • Requires TS/SCI and the position is located outside of Atlanta with a 6-month assignments overseas.
  • Physical ability and commitment to deploy globally and initial work location based near Atlanta, GA.
  • Ability to perform duties under less then optimum conditions for extended periods of time.
  • Familiar with forensic databases and portals.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites, spreadsheets and associated programs.
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills.
  • US Citizenship Required
  • Current/Previous DOD Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance.
  • Professional certification such as American Board of Criminalistics (ABC) is required.
  • Eligible for both US Tourist Passport and US Official Passport.
  • Successfully pass proficiency testing prior to and annually during employment.
