Salary: $3,342.50 - $4,263.00 per month
Final Filing Date: This is a continuous filing exam with semi-annual cut-offs on the first Wednesday of July and January.
This is a single classification with two (2) salary levels. Level I is the level at which initial appointments to Coroner Technician are typically made; and advancement from the lower to the higher level of the class is at the discretion of the appointing authority, provided the minimum qualifications are met.
Under general supervision, assists forensic pathologists with autopsy examinations by performing technical procedures as directed by providing tools, equipment, and solutions; preparing bodies before and after the autopsy by disposing of organs, tissues and fluids; using a variety of techniques to prepare medical-legal evidence; identifying and releasing bodies; maintaining facility in a safe sanitary condition; performing a variety of clerical work; and completing other duties related to morgue services.
