The County of Volusia is seeking one (1) intern to work with the Office of the Medical Examiner. This position is located in Daytona Beach and will be responsible for assisting Forensic Technicians during postmortem examinations in the morgue, providing assistance to Forensic Investigators during death scene response, and providing administrative and clerical support. This internship will give you the opportunity to gain essential knowledge and experience in the different areas of the Medical Examiner's Office. During your internship, you will be expected to perform certain duties under the direction and guidance of professionals in the specific areas. This position will require you to handle deceased bodies that may have traumatic injuries. You must be able to present yourself in a professional manner and maintain confidentiality. The candidate will have the opportunity to learn what deaths fall under medical examiner jurisdiction and the process for determining cause and manner of death.
Internships are for the Fall, Spring and Summer semesters, for twelve (12) weeks (16 hours per week) (16 hours per week).
