Very responsible technical work in the identification, examination, and testing of firearms and accessories pertaining to law enforcement investigations, preparation of reports of analysis, providing expert testimony in court; and related work as required.


Minimum Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Five (5) years of full-time professional experience examining and identifying firearms and other weapons, ammunition, and related evidence in an accredited crime laboratory.
  • Four (4) years of experience conducting Firearm and Toolmark examinations and analysis in an accredited crime lab as a commission police officer may be substituted for the Bachelor's Degree.
