Salary: $29,016.00 - $43,555.20 Annually

Under the general direction of the Evidence/Property supervisor, responsible for the proper handling, storage and final disposition of evidence and/or property held by the Police department. This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

  • Fill request for the SAO and Detectives; copies of photos, tapes, FDLE reports.
  • Collect evidence and/or property from police officer and/or civilian personnel.
  • Log in and inventory evidence.
  • Dispose records, as required.
  • Prepare and deliver evidence to laboratory for processing.
  • Prepare and deliver evidence to court.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Six months to one year experience in related field; or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
  • Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Proficient in the use of word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.
  • Able to operate necessary equipment, including personal computer, calculator, copier, facsimile machine and other standard office equipment.
Supplemental Information
  • Tasks involve sitting; standing; walking; kneeling, bending, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling and performing other physical requirements commensurate with demands of the position. Manual dexterity to operate equipment in performance of duties. Must have good vision (corrective lenses acceptable); must be able to hear (hearing aids acceptable); must be able to speak (express or exchange of information by means of spoken words). Must be able to lift and/or carry/move up to 50 pounds.
  • Contact with internal and external customers, outside agencies and the general public.
  • Works in an office environment and sits for long periods of time.
  • May be required to work hours other than the regular schedule including nights, weekends, holidays and during emergencies.
