  • $44,000/yr. - CLS Trainee
  • $48,400/yr. - CLS 1
  • $53,420/yr. - CLS 2
  • $60,790/yr. - CLS 3

Duties:

  • Under immediate or limited supervision, perform laboratory examinations, scientific analyses, and comparisons on physical evidence submitted by local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies for investigative and legal purposes.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree with a major in chemistry from an accredited college or university.
  • OR
  • A forensic science degree, which included the successful completion of at least 40 semester (or 60 quarter) hours of chemistry coursework.
  • NOTE: Successful completion is considered a “C” or better in coursework.
  • CLS Trainee - 0 to 1 years’ experience in forensic chemistry/drug identification examinations
  • CLS 1 - 1 to 2 years’ experience in forensic chemistry/drug identification examinations
  • CLS 2 - More than 2 and less than 5 years’ experience in forensic chemistry/drug identification examinations
  • CLS 3 - 5 or more years’ experience in forensic chemistry/drug identification examinations
