The Property & Evidence Technician I/II performs administrative and technical duties associated with the maintenance, control, and disposal of property and evidence within the Police Department. Collects physical evidence at crime scene including fingerprints and taking photographs as needed.
The Property & Evidence Technician I is the entry level class in the Property & Evidence series. This class is alternately staffed with the Property & Evidence Technician II and incumbents may advance to the higher-level class after gaining the knowledge, skills and experience that meet the qualifications for and demonstrating the ability to perform the work of the higher-level class. The Property & Evidence Technician II is the journey level class within the Property & Evidence series. This class provides higher-level, more technical and varied support, and may also be expected to assist in the oversight and training of less experienced personnel.
