Employee in this position is responsible for the receiving, cataloging, warehousing and disposing of evidence, contraband or personal property taken into Police Department custody. Contact with other departmental employees is extensive. Contact with the public and other government officials is considerable.
This is journeyman level store keeping work providing a wide variety of supplies and materials or a specialized store keeping function to support the activities of County departments and agencies. Work involves responsibility for operating a moderate to large size storeroom which ordinarily involves a wide variety of commodities. Responsibilities may include establishing storage methods and procedures, maintaining inventory records, and requisitioning items not in stock. This position may function as a lead worker. Work is performed under general supervision.
