Crime Scene Technician I: This is the trainee level of the Crime Scene Technician series. After one year of experience as an Crime Scene Technician I, an individual is eligible to be considered for promotion to the level of Crime Scene Technician II. Promotions are considered on a merit basis, subject to recommendation by the department head and the approval of the Director of Personnel. Incumbents in this classification will be required to work shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
Crime Scene Technician II: This is the journey level in the Crime Scene Technician classification series. Incumbents are fully proficient in all phases of specialized and technical criminal investigative duties relative to physical evidence and perform in a lead capacity, directing and training staff as assigned. Incumbents in this classification will be required to work shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
